Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 24, 2026

Welcome to AmaOdia. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting any data processed by our application. This policy outlines our practices regarding data handling, permissions, and third-party services for the AmaOdia Android App.

Transparency Note: AmaOdia is designed to function entirely offline. We do not collect, upload, or sell your personal data to any third-party servers.

1. Information Handling (Local Storage)

The App stores information locally on your device's private sandbox storage to provide a personalized experience. This data includes:

Data Deletion: You can delete all locally stored data (History and Favorites) at any time by using the clear features within the App settings or by uninstalling the application. All local data is permanently removed upon uninstallation.

2. Mandatory Permissions & Their Usage

3. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party SDKs provided by Google to ensure application stability, accurate features, and proper installation licensing:

4. Data Attribution & Licensing

The dictionary data in AmaOdia is sourced from the "Dictionary: English Odia word pairs" dataset by Soumendra Kumar Sahoo (2021), available on Kaggle (DOI: 10.34740/KAGGLE/DSV/2709373). This data is used under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license.

Modifications were made to the original data structure (including indexing, database expansion, and unique ID mapping) to optimize performance for the Android platform. In accordance with the ShareAlike provision, the modified database schema/data is available to the community upon request.

5. Security

We use industry-standard encryption and code obfuscation (R8/ProGuard) to protect the App’s internal logic. All local data is stored in the app's private sandbox, which is completely inaccessible to other applications on your device.

6. Children’s Privacy

AmaOdia does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children. Since no user accounts, registration, or cloud sign-ins are required, we do not track or store user ages.
