Privacy Policy for HydraAI

At HydraAI, we believe your health data is your own. Our application is built with a Local-First & Privacy-First architecture. This means your data stays on your device, not on our servers.

1. Medical Disclaimer
HydraAI is a hydration tracking tool intended for informational purposes only. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, or prevent any medical condition. Hydration targets are estimates; please consult a healthcare professional for personalized medical advice.

2. Data Collection and Usage

A. User-Provided Information: Information you enter (Name, Weight, Gender) is used solely to calculate your physiological hydration needs. This data is stored in a private, encrypted SQLite database on your physical device using hardware-backed encryption keys.

B. Location Data (Sensitive Permission): HydraAI requests Coarse Location (Approximate) permission.

Purpose: To fetch local weather (temperature/humidity) via the Open-Meteo API.
Ephemeral Processing: Your approximate coordinates are processed only in volatile memory to fulfill the weather request. We do not store your location history or track your GPS coordinates.
Usage: Weather data allows the "AI Engine" to increase your water goal during heatwaves to prevent dehydration.

C. Device Sensors: We access the device Accelerometer to animate the water level in the UI. This processing happens entirely in the device's volatile memory; no sensor data is ever logged or saved.

D. Notifications: We use the POST_NOTIFICATIONS permission to send hydration reminders. These are triggered locally by your device’s internal clock and do not involve external tracking.

3. Third-Party Services

Weather API: HydraAI utilizes the Open-Meteo API to provide accurate, location-based weather data. Open-Meteo operates under a transparent, privacy-focused model. By using our app, you acknowledge that your approximate location data is sent to Open-Meteo solely to retrieve weather information. Open-Meteo does not receive your Name, Device ID, or any other personal identifiers. Weather data is provided under the CC BY 4.0 license.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Total Control: You own your data. We retain your information only as long as the app is installed.

Manual Deletion: You can use the "Reset App" button in Settings to instantly wipe all profile data and hydration history.
App Uninstallation: Deleting the app from your device automatically removes all associated data stored in the app's private directory.

5. Updates to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page.

6. Children’s Privacy

HydraAI does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided us with information, please contact us for immediate removal.
